A welcoming, skills-based Forest School group for families.
Nature Explorers is a relaxed but purposeful outdoor learning group where children and their grown-ups can spend time together in nature, build practical skills and enjoy seasonal activities throughout the year.
Each session will introduce opportunities to develop Forest School and outdoor skills, alongside seasonal crafts and nature based activities. This might include simple tool skills, fire safety, nature identification, natural crafts, shelter building, knot tying, campfire cooking and other practical activities appropriate to the children attending.
Nature Explorers is a family session rather than a drop off provision, so a parent or responsible adult stays throughout and joins in alongside their child.
We also want this to feel like a genuine community group, families are encouraged to get involved: helping to prepare activities, gathering resources, looking after the site, sharing skills, tidying away and contributing to the group together.
There will still be plenty of time to enjoy the site, chat, explore and follow children’s interests, but each session will have a clear focus on learning and practising new skills.
